Male rhinoplasty - Bulbous tip correction surgery with hump removal on the bridge. Do I also need a nostril reduction surgery? > O.P Column

The patient I would like to introduce this time is a male who underwent turbinectomy 5 years ago. 

He suffers from severe rhinitis, and as you can see in the photo, he has a rounded nose that appears large and wide. 

He prefers a straight nose line and has mentioned that his ideal type is a more masculine look with defined features. 

He has also been considering nostril reduction.

First, let's take a look at the frontal photo. 

As you can see from the front view, the nose appears larger and somewhat wider compared to the face. 

Typically, it's not easy to notice changes in the nose from the frontal photo, but in this patient's case, you can clearly see a reduction in the width and size of the nose even from the front.

Compared to before the surgery, the shadows on the bridge of the nose have become more defined, and the tip of the nose has been refined. 

Additionally, the appearance of the nose being wide has improved.

This time, we have a photo taken from below. In the picture, you can see that the shape of the nose tip is spread out to the sides and appears flattened in the center. 

It looks like the cartilage is slightly splayed.

By bringing together the splayed cartilage at the tip of the nose and sufficiently raising its height, you can see that the shape of the nostrils has also changed. 

It's been two weeks since the surgery, so the scars underneath the nose are still quite noticeable (open rhinoplasty).

This is the view from a 45-degree angle. 

The nostrils appear somewhat bulky, and they are slightly lower compared to the profile view, making the shape of the nostrils quite visible.

With the nostril reduction surgery, the previous bulky and fleshy appearance has improved significantly. 

Compared to before the surgery, it looks much sleeker. 

The scars from the nostril reduction are still quite noticeable, but it will take some time for them to fade.

This is the side view. From this angle, you can clearly see the bump on the bridge of the nose. 

In cases of a hump nose, the tip of the nose often droops, but by lowering the bump on the bridge and lifting the tip, we have eliminated the overall indentation in the middle and created a clean straight line.

When comparing the before and after photos, it's clear that the shape of the nose tip has transformed into a straight nose that appears sleek and elongated. 

Previously, from the side view, the mouth seemed a bit protruding. 

By slightly reducing the profile and bringing the nose forward, the overall balance of the face has improved, giving the impression that the mouth is more recessed.
