Hello, this is Dr. Kim Hyung-taek from Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Today, I’d like to introduce a case of a patient with a long, drooping nasal tip that appears arrow-shaped.
This is a common concern for those with a low nasal profile.
In the pre-surgery photo, you can see that the nasal tip is significantly drooping and spreading, giving it an arrow-like appearance.
Typically, this kind of nose can further droop when smiling, often due to the action of the muscle that pulls the tip downward, known as the depressor septi nasi muscle.
When performing nasal surgery, correcting this muscle is essential to prevent the tip from continuing to droop.
In the post-surgery frontal view, the nasal bridge is properly positioned, and the previously spread nasal wings have normalized.
The nasal tip has been effectively lifted. Binding the tip cartilage generally results in a more defined shape of the nostrils.
Before the surgery, the low nasal bridge and glabella gave the face a sunken appearance, with the lips protruding and the midface appearing depressed.
With the increased height of the glabella and nasal bridge, the facial contours are improved, and the angle between the nasal columella and the upper lip (nasolabial angle) has also been enhanced.
Additionally, a slight dorsal hump was present before the surgery, which was corrected through hump reduction.
