Hello, this is Dr. Kim Hyung-taek from Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Today, I’d like to introduce a case of male crooked nose surgery.
In the front and bottom views of the photos, you can see that the nose is crooked and the nasal tip is misaligned.
Additionally, from the front view, the nostrils are prominently visible, which seems excessive from the side.
This patient had a deviated septum, which often accompanies rhinitis.
The septum is a vertical structure in the center of the nose that divides the nostrils into two. Deviations occur due to various reasons:
External trauma
Swelling of nasal tissues due to rhinitis, causing displacement
Congenital facial asymmetry leading to unilateral development
Genetic factors
A deviated septum can cause discomfort in breathing and affect the nasal shape.
Surgery was performed using ear cartilage and silicone, along with correction of the deviated septum.
While there are many triggers for rhinitis, it’s often the case that correcting a deviated septum also improves rhinitis symptoms.
Additionally, to correct the drooping nasal tip, we performed correction of the nasal tip droop.
Here’s the front view before and after surgery.
You can see that the crooked nasal tip and misalignment have been corrected and centered.
The changes are even more apparent from the bottom view.
In the side view, you can see that the excessive exposure of the nostrils has normalized.
We extended the septum to lengthen the nasal tip sufficiently.
