Today, I’d like to introduce a case where we transformed a large and wide bulbous nose into a more feminine and softer appearance.
In the pre-surgery photos, you can see that although the nasal bridge isn’t particularly low (there was filler inside), the bridge is thick, and the overall nose, especially the nasal tip, looks large and has the appearance of a bulbous nose. A nose that is this large and wide can give a more masculine and dull impression.
Since the nasal bridge wasn’t particularly low, we aimed to avoid using silicone.
The broad nasal bridge was narrowed by performing osteotomy. Additionally, since the alar and nostrils were quite thick and large, we also performed alar reduction (nostril narrowing).
This is 2 weeks post-surgery, so there’s still some swelling, but you can already see that the nose has become much narrower and more refined.
From a 45-degree angle, you can see that the nasal bridge has become smoother, giving a much more feminine appearance.
We also removed as much soft tissue from the nasal tip as possible to reduce the thick, bulky look.
The nasal tip has been extended to create a sharper and more elegant appearance.
While it’s difficult to achieve an extremely narrow and sharp nose due to the thickness of the skin and soft tissue in bulbous noses, it’s possible to create a stylish and feminine result without overdoing it.
The previously rounded and bulky nasal tip has been significantly reduced.
The patient underwent alarplasty (alar base reduction) on the sides of the nostrils, and with proper scar management, the scars won’t be very noticeable, so there’s no need to worry too much.
