Hello, this is Dr. Kim Hyung-taek from Kowon Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Today, I’d like to show a case of a patient who previously underwent thread-based nose surgery and later required a revision.
Many people with an initial fear of surgical rhinoplasty opt for non-surgical methods like fillers, Miss-Co (thread lifting with bumps), or dissolvable threads for a petite nose job. While these non-surgical options can be effective if the results are satisfactory, achieving the desired nose shape with these methods is often challenging.
These treatments usually only lift the nasal tip, leaving the nasal bridge flat, which can create an unnatural appearance.
Additionally, fillers have a short lifespan and are less effective in creating a prominent nasal bridge.
Consequently, many patients find themselves dissatisfied and return for surgical correction.
The problem with thread-based methods like High-Co, Miss-Co, or Bay-Co is that the threads are often difficult to remove and require surgery.
Removing these threads can be challenging and stressful on the nasal tissues, resulting in additional costs.
Many people think they can try these non-surgical options and, if unsatisfied, later opt for traditional rhinoplasty.
However, since the nasal tissues are more sensitive and less ample compared to other body areas, even minor non-surgical treatments can be challenging to remove.
Therefore, it’s crucial to carefully consider and choose treatments.
In the pre-surgery photos, the nasal tip is drooping, and the nasal bridge is very low, resulting in an unsatisfactory nose shape.
From the base view, the nasal tip appears to be gathered as if tied with threads.
After removing the threads through surgery, we used septal cartilage to refine and elevate the nasal tip.
The photo taken two weeks post-surgery shows a significantly elevated nasal tip.
The frontal view shows a more prominent and refined nasal bridge compared to before.
Additionally, the previously blunt nasal tip has become much sharper.
The boundary where the nasal wings meet the tip, which previously appeared sunken and gathered, is now naturally elevated.
